Music Together highlights:
- informal learning of musical skills through new songs, chants, movement, instrumental jams, dance and play
- research-based early childhood music development
- family friendly classes for you and your child, siblings, grandparents, caregivers, etc
- mixed age classes, recommended because they foster natural, family style learning. Younger children learn to imitate the older ones, and older children have an opportunity to teach and lead
- participation at individual paces, recognizes each individual has their own personal timeline
- a combination of learning styles including visual, auditory and kinesthetic (moving)
- music to take home with a song book, 2 CD's and parent DVD
- parent participation, as the most important influence in a child's musical life...
- international recognitionas an early childhood music program.
- emphasis on music experience versus concepts about music
- a musical journey parents, not just children, can learn from
- a safe place to explore your own personal silly quotient and music making abilities
- qualified teachers, as trained by the Center for Music and Young Children in Pinceton, NJ committed to ongoing professional development
Centre Director & Teacher
Roxy has been playing music for years, beginning on piano then moving to guitar/voice/percussion. She is passionate about educating young children as she believes music at an early age will set them up for many successful experiences and opportunities in their future. She began teaching Music Together classes in Vancouver under the direction of Katherine Deane and West Side Music Together and has since opened her own centre in Salmon Arm, BC. Her teaching style is complimented by her entertainment tactics as she pulls from her skills as both a musician and children's entertainer. Read more...
