Music Mash - Workshop Style

An interactive way for childcare providers and parents to learn how to use music effectively in daily routines. Experience how music can be integrated to childcare settings or home environments to: reduce anxiety during transitions,develop motor skills,improve listening,teach new concepts and motivate children!

Through observation and participation in a music circle time with children, participants will leave this hands on workshop with new activity ideas, fresh songs, strategies to use instruments and recorded music more effectively and online resources. No previous music skills required for this 1 hr workshop!

This workshop is also available for presentation as an adult workshop, with no children present.

"Get Off the Bench!"

Designed to motivate music teachers to "get off the bench!" in music lessons to teach more effectively. We will experience music through different learning styles--with games and activities that reinforce musical concepts such as rhythm, melody, and counting.

This is an especially useful workshop for teachers with many young beginners and students who need to move more.

Students will benefit as the best motivator for learning is fun! Collaborate, share ideas and discover that you and your imagination are your own best resource!

Facilitator Biography

Roxy Roth works closely with children and music--singing, dancing and playing everyday! Her resume includes Director/Teacher of Music Together - a music and movement program for early childhood, a Bachelor of Music Therapy, Gr. 8 Royal Conservatory Piano, Piano & Guitar Teacher and 12 years of experience as a clown entertainer. She currently facilitates educative and therapeutic music programs as part of her self-employed business RoxyFx.
